Water tank site gage Scamp 19

I am thinking of cutting a hole in the inside side wall of the compartment that houses the water tank so I can see the water level in the water tank. Has any one done this? I have a 2013 Scamp 19 and use the water tank a lot and what a pain it is to check the level. Can you post some pics of the project?

Look carefully at the picture below. We used a picture frame with the cutout installed in it to form a door through which to observe the tank level.
It also serves as access for more storage like shoes or owners manuals.

Thank you for your replies. I will attempt that project at a latter date. Your Scamp is looking good.
As for the spelling error. At the time I wrote the post I was eating ice cream and had brain freeze. I realized my error but in hast didn't go back and correct it.

I find it interesting the time and effort some people will undertake to look at a water tank. After several years (11+) of camping I pretty well know how much water is left without looking. There's several clues. One how the pump is working (I have a hand pump rather than the 12 volt electric pump). How long since I filled it.
I also have the habit of filling the fresh water tank before leaving home and again when ever I dump the gray water tank. Most dump stations have fresh water.
Since I don't pump gallons of water to wash hands, do dishes and take showers it's a non-issue issue for me. If I really want to know the status I can move the curb side dinette cushion and look.

The gauge is handy for the wife so that she can keep checking it and tell you when to get more water
