what length super tube would you buy for a scamp?

I'll be ordering one of these on Monday (I hope) because I am NOT in a position to make one like so many of you have.

Sanitubes / Sewer Hose Carriers / SUPER-TUBE - DW Inc.

I'm trying to pick a good length for mounting on my Scamp 16'. If you were ordering and wanted a good fit for your Scamp, which length would you order? I appreciate any input.

S.

Well it depends on who you ask. Some people don't like the looks of them and some do. I've always set whatever camper I have at the time up to fit me; not anyone else. That being said; when I bought my Scamp 19 I took the old short tube off because it was a yellow color from fading. I re-mounted it under the unit near the back for a short hose. Then I bought a long tube and a short tube and installed them on the front. I will use one short one from the black tank and hook into the other short one coming from the gray tank with a Y tee and use the long one going from the Y to the dump. Here is a picture of my two mounted on the front. Not a great angle for the picture but its the one I already had on photobucket.

I would buy it so it's the same width as body where I was going to mount it (because I carry two hoses of different lengths). In my case it would be under the trailer. I took that fugly thing off the front of my trailer. Where are you planning to mount it?

Thanks Ted and Donna. I'm going to put this on hold as I just got an email from someone who might be able to build me one. Much mucho cheaper.

Sharon

Sharon, I think the 5" fence post is neato and it can be made to any length you want. Mounting it underneath (to the frame) or the rear bumper isn't difficult with pipe clamps.

You go girl!

I did the 5" fence post trick last week - finally got rid on the ugle holder on the front of the trailer. Mounted the post right under the trailer just behind the grey water outlet. I made mine 5' as I wanted it to be slightly hidden under the trailer but still long enough to hold a 15' RhionFlex hose and its extra connections. I put plastic hinges and a SS latch on the end caps to keep them on. Use it this week-end for the first time and it worked great.

Stinky slinky lives in a 5 gal bucket after the tube got ripped off where Scamp mounted it. It sometimes does weird things when you are going 65 mph.

A 15 ft. Rhino hose takes a 60" tube or(5") fence post. With a 5" fence post the cone will also stow in the post. I did like Carol on my S-16, I mounted my fence post behind the grey water tank. I also painted it black with Fusion type plastic paint and you don't notice it under the trailer.
