What sealant to use?

I have two vent pipes that go through the roof of my Fiber Stream. I am wondering what would be the best sealant to seal these with? Both of the pipes have a gap where the pass trough the roof. They do have vent caps and I have not seen any water come in but if I put a hose stream no the roof I am sure the water would come in.

My first thought was silicon but not sure that is the best sealant to use. My next thought is a latex bath/kitchen sealant. Any suggestions?

I would go to a RV store and buy a tube of RV roof sealant.

That is the job of the Vent Caps. They are what seal the roof and keeps rain from penetrating to the gap between the vent pipe and the hole in the roof. Like any other fixture, just put Butyl Tape between the flange of the vent cap and the roof. I seal the screws with C-10 sealant

I would recommend Dicor Lap sealant. It's designed for up to a 3/8 inch wide bead and is used for sealing rubber RV roofs, fiberglass, steel, aluminum or masonry.
It's very flexible and self leveling so it looks good with a minimum of effort.
I think I bought my last tube at Camping World.

I did not know how the caps were made. I will check to see how the caps are sealed.
