Ok, since DH is starting from scratch in the rebuild, I have to choose... which to make space for... toaster oven or microwave? Several (OK, many..) years ago I had a huge Prowler trailer that I just couldn't back up, but it had an oven I used a lot. At home I do use the microwave quite a bit, particularly for leftovers... which do I put into the Cadet?? Obviously there isn't room for both. I usually stick the crock pot in for making meals outside the trailer (I have great cake recipes & roast chickens or do soups).. I'm leaning towards the toaster oven ... any hints on what works for you??

Hi Gwenn,

Have you done a search for various types of Ovens?
You might check for:
Microwave oven
Convection Oven
Toaster Oven

Also, check out this older thread:

Yeah- - -we had a microwave from Wallyworld in our 5th wheel that was a combo micro/toaster oven. Did the microwave bit nice, and I could bake a 10 inch pie in it.. also did a small turkey too. There's the right one for you out there-- keep looking. Larry

Hmmm... popcorn or toast.... tough choice. I have a microwave installed, but it doesn't see a lot of use.

How about both? We bought a Warm & Toasty oven, which is a combination microwave & toaster oven. You can find them just about anywhere but we got ours at Lowe's. It's more expensive but we can cook just about anything in it. The only drawback is that it's slower than a normal microwave, but who's in a hurry when you're camping? We really like it. We're planning to remove the gas cooktop because we never use it--it heats up the Scamp too much.
