What year is my Casita camper?

The year of our camper is in question.
The camper is a Casita with brown lettering on the side.
It also has what we used to call sculptured carpet (shades of brown) on the ceiling and walls.
We were told it was a 1983.
I have called Casita and the man I talked to said he wasn`t sure of the year.

Can anyone tell us the approx. year?

Hi Richard,

It would be helpful to see a photo of your Casita. The title for our Casita says it's '84, but it has 83 stamped into the metal on the front right side of the tongue. 1983 is also melted into the plastic side of the freshwater tank. I've included photos of our trailer. The 1983, 13' Casita that I've seen before had a much larger logo on the side and it was a more rounded font.

Jeanne-thanks for the photo-the brown lettering on the side of our camper is larger.
I see you camper has the carpet also-guess I`m stuck with it because it is just too much work to remove. Thanks for the info-Richard

Call Casita back with the complete VIN and they should be able to tell you either from their records or just by the date codes that should be in the VIN.

We are unable to find a vin number. Didn`t look for one before buying the camper. Will do more searching for any number.

Richard, you don't have a title? Look on top of the tongue. It could be buried under layers of paint. It may be easier to try a light rubbing on paper, using thin paper and a pencil. Others have had luck at night, shining a flashlight at an angle.

On my Scamp the number is on the door side, top of the frame, about 4 inches back from the coupler.
