What's behind door number one? (Backsplash)

I willy nilly went and got lost in Ikea and saw and subsequently bought these

Now I'm faced with a dilemma. Can anyone tell me if there are studs or anything to attach to behind the backsplash of a 1975 trillium 1300?

If not, do you think it would hold the weight of these with kitchen stuffs (utensils and soap and condiments) in them? Maybe about 10lbs or so of things? Also any other ideas for attaching them would help!

No studs, but you could rivet to the gallery fiberglass.

It would be difficult to rivet this bar in place. Actually impossible I think.

Why is that? If it uses screws, just substitute with rivets.

Command brand adhesive strips hold a pretty good weight, but not sure about sticking them to the adhesive tile you have though.

Lyndsay, I used the 3m adhesive velcro designed for hanging heavy pictures. So far, no problem. They can hold quite a weight and come in black and white.

Once the inner plate is attached to the bracket I don't know how I would rivet it to the fiberglass

I looked at industrial strength Velcro but it's a small area that it would go on and I don't know that it would hold. What sort of bracket did you use it on?

Here are some pictures. The upside down one came un-velcroed when we were traveling with two tea towels hanging on it and hit a good bump. I am going to move it to the wall this spring. The one above the utensils was actually an over-the-door bar and we cut off the hook part.

When we bought the trailer the previous owner had glued a piece of wood (circular) on a plastic towel rack and then onto the fiberglass. We were able to remove it with much difficulty and had to hide what we could not get off so we installed a new rod where the old marks were.

Washers Just pick something big enough not to slip through the slot that the rivets will fit through.

I see. They have this same bar with a mount that uses screws that remain visible. This is what I was thinking you would use, as rivets would work fine with them.

Looks great. If what ever you used to hold it does not work out you could always mount it using nuts and bolts through the fiberglass in the over head cabinet.

We had thought about doing that and then using chain the hang the second one down lower. We have backup plans lol

Matches perfectly eh?! Just had a friend clean it up for me. Will be putting it in for show for now until I have the time and weather to plumb it properly.
