What's the Interior Covered With?

We acquired a '75 Surfside as a half completed project, and this is our first fiberglass trailer of this kind. Question; what is the material that the interior is covered with? It's rubber backed stuff that's been painted almond and it's on all the walls and ceiling. Is this something someone added? Or is it factory? Can you replace it, and if so, with what? It's lumpy and sticky.

Thanks! Gail

Its called Ensolite (or similar) it is factory but didnt come painted (its an off white originally) replacing is a bit costly but can be done by ordering it from Scamp based from what i have read on here before, altho if its not ripped up to bad i would keep it as it can be saved very easily- you should look over my rebuild thread for more details- we scrubbed the Ensolite clean (years of dirt and smoking in it from previous owners) we used spray 9 for that, then we removed all the tape seams and glue and filled the gaps with paintable caulking dabbing it along the way with a wet sponge to mimic the texture (this can also be used to fill tears/holes), then painted about 3 coats of high quality interior latex paint (i use kitchen/bath stuff so it can be wiped with a wet cloth for cleaning) this brightend up the interior and made it feel like new inside!

Thank you Jeremy! That's very helpful. Now, I'll go look for your rebuild thread. :-)

no problem! if you go to the top of the screen to the manufactures tab and click surfside you will get threads of almost everything you need to know for the surfsides!
