Wheels

We have an 1980 Bigfoot which has 14 inch wheels. We have to replace the tires anyhow, and wondered if it would be possible to use 15 inch wheels instead in order to give us more clearance. We note that the new Bigfoot travel trailers come with 15 inch wheels. Does anyone have any comments or suggestions on whether or not we should purchase the larger wheels.

Many thanks.
Bud Teeple:)

The main question I see is - Do they fit in the wheel well? how you find out? :shg ask the tire guy?? measure?? Some have changed theirs, so maybe they will show up directly and help.

Bigfoot tires

Bud:
At the risk of instigating another P vs ST tire controversy, I note that
my '81 Bigfoot has P225 75 R15 tires. While I find the numbers associated
with tires somewhat of a mystery, I presume the R15 means 15" radials, so
I guess the answer to your question would be yes. I can't comment on whether
the 15" is better, since that is what I bought it with, but from my point
of view they seem fine. There is lots of clearance for these tires.

Speaking of Bigfoots (Bigfeet?) I notice a Bigfoot 5th wheel I pass daily on
my ride from work is for sale. This might be of interest to someone in the
Calgary, Alberta area. There is no phone number, just the sign, and I have no
details on size or year.
