Where to find fridge propane pipe ?

I have to replace the propane supply pipe to the fridge on my Trillium 1300 (1975)

Anyone know where I can buy this ?

Also need a propane regulator

If you are talking about the copper LP supply pipe, that's usually standard 3/8" copper pipe, available at almost any hardware store. If you are talking about the pipe(s) on the back of the refrigerator, they are not considered replaceable nor is the unit considered rechargeable.


LP regulators are readily available on-line or ay any RV Supply or LP Service store. You want a TWO STAGE regulator.

true that... but when shopping for copper tubing be sure and get the gas rated tubing,it costs a little more than water rated tubing and is often stacked right next to it on the shelf so check it before buying.

I am referring to the copper propane pipe that goes through the floor to the underside of the trailer.

So how do I flange the ends so the nuts seal and don't fall off?

Also do I need a pipe bender ?

you don't really need a tubing bender but you will need a "single flaring tool" which is sold at the big box hardware store usually right next to the tubing. If this is to be your only job for it, try to borrow one because good tools cost good money.

Tell me, would YOU let someone with no experience do a job on your trailer that could lead to a fire? I sure wouldn't, and I don't really think that you would either. Find a friend with the experience and tools needed and get it done right and be safe.


Installing LP lines offers significant opportunity to do it wrong, possibly resulting in a gas leak, not a good thing.

Pretty simple, just make sure the flair is uniform and don't get crazy with over tightening the nut and no tape or dope on a flair joint. Be sure to check the connections with soap for any leaks. BTW, to bend the tubing without kinking it you can pick up a tubing bender real cheap or a wire spring cover that does the same thing. I don't remember what the later is called. Kind of a slinky looking thing and will be around the tubing and benders at the store.

Since you have no experience if your going to tackle the job yourself get extra tubing and practice bending and flaring the tubing before you start on the trailer.

Don't forget to put the nut on BEFORE you flare the tubing!~

Another option in the tubing bending issue is to fill it with fine sand which will allow it to bend without kinking. Make sure you blow it all out when done.

Find a real "old school" hardware store that will do the ends for you. Make sure you measure it carefully, and I suggest you figure a way to put an "S" bend in it so you can lengthen it or shorten it if necessary when updating the appliance down the road. If you measure it carefully, they can bend it for you too.

Great idea Steve, I hadn't thought of that as a possibility. I hope that Mr. T takes it to heart. I have seen RV's burn and it isn't a pretty sight.

I agree find a mom pop hardware store or go to a plumbing store with accurate measurements
Should be ezy peazie to get this done correctly
