Window Crank for 74 Boler

Hi,

I bought the Boler window cranks from Vintage trailer supply and they are different from the ones I took out. Has anyone else come across this? How did you install them?

Just starting my Boler restoration crusade

Hi, Glenda

Can you post a picture of or link to what you bought?
A pic of the ones you took out would be good, too.
Are they knobs or cranks for louvered windows, or...

Francesca

Here is what I bought. Boler Torque Bar Window Operator

The part with the gear that sticks out is placed higher than what was already there and the rivet hole pattern is different as well.

Boy, I'm no help on this one...
No chance of making the old ones work, huh?
WD40 did wonders for my Trillium window mechanisms!

I'm sure somebody with a Boler will check in and help you out.

Good Luck!

Francesca

When I drive down the road she spreads her wings (windows) to try and take flight, lol.
I still have the old once just in case. Thanks anyways.

I know what you mean...
I like to think of that as a REALLY Fantastic Fan function!
I did notice at the link you provided that somebody in the "comments" mentioned installation instructions at the website somewhere.
I'm not a member there so I didn't look any further, but if you can find those they may talk about workarounds for your problem.

I replaced the cranks in my 73 Boler. Took one of the old ones to a local RV dealer and they were able to match it up to an almost identical model.
As far as installation goes this link may help you
Replacing Window Crank
I believe I did find another method, but can't seem to find the link right now.
Good luck

Glenda, I have both side windows out of my boler that I am selling, they don't come open while travelling. I removed them because I am updating with new style ones.
