window gaskets

Greetings!
Saw some old posts from members looking for window gaskets when I was searching for some to replace the ones leaking over the cab in my '75 Toyota Chinook. Finally found the right gaskets at USA Marine Windows Inc & American Marine Inc. Thought I'd pass the info along; maybe it'll save others the frustration of going down all the dead ends I found in my search.

Carol, are you talking about the window in the fiberglass portion or the ones in the cab portion?

Welcome to FiberglassRV. Just so you know right off the bat, this forum is dedicated to molded fiberglass towables. We'd be glad to discuss the motorhome portion of your RV, we just don't delve into drivetrains, etc. There are other places on the WWW that could help you with that.

Yup. Gotcha. All the machinery's topnotch. It's the fiberglass coach part that's needing attention. So it's the windows in the fiberglass coach, the part that sits above and a little behind the cab windshield. Aluminium frames - outer ring and inner ring. With the plexi-glass seated in the outer one. There's no RV place carries anything like the original gasket. But these marine places have exactly the match. And good pricing, too.

Parts' #'s depend on the plexiglass thickness and the frame seat. The Gaskets I found on the marine websites are called "Channel Depth Glazing Wedges" and they come in all sizes. Also just found Pacific Coast Marine.

Carol... are you in Salem, Oregon? Or Salem, Mass... or some other Salem?

If you're from Oregon... welcome again from another Oregonian! I love the all fiberglass tiny motorhomes. My parents had one twenty years ago and I borrowed it for a weekend and had a blast... other than driving uphill... what a gutless wonder. Post pictures in your profile when you get a chance.

I'm moving this to Problem Solving because, even though it's an introduction, there's some problem solving info that might be missed if it stays in the "Hi" forum. I hope it helps!

Oh, and welcome to FiberglassRV.com, Carol!!
