Window Knob Trillium 4500?
The plastic knob for the kitchen jalousie window broke during our move out of New York to sunny South Florida. Does anyone have a good replacement or substitution? Thanks in advance!

I think you will find that a replacement knob for a roof vent will fit perfectly. Try the knob from your roof vent first to see if it does fit. These are available at any RV parts store

Totally standard part. Some look like a crank, some a six lobed knob. Just ask for a knob for an old Herr Jalousie window. I payed about $5 each for white, six lobed, short stemmed knobs. I probably got ripped. But for $30 I got enough for the whole trailer. There was kinda a mix and match variety before.

I agree Dave but most RV Parts dept won't event acknowledge older trailers ("nope don't have parts for them, you won't find that part anywhere") or want a model and year to find the parts. You have to hand hold many of they through what you are looking for, that is why I suggested the vent knob. They are the same and the parts guy understands what you are looking for.....

I like older trailers. Most of the time I can find parts for them.

Thank You Everyone!
It's good to know the knob is readily available. I will check rv parts store next time I pass by one.

Stock, unchanged item- I bought some off the rack in the "mobile home" section of my local True Value hardware store. Couldn't find them at all in the original beige, though.
Do be aware that, as David indicated, they come in short and long shank versions. "Long" may stick out too far for some places in the trailer.

Last time I checked, Trillium / Outback has the beige ones.

Do you mean Joe Thoen's outfit in Canada, David? I bought my awning hardware from them- it never occurred to me to ask about beige knobs there. I thought they'd gone to white!
Might have to give them a call, although the white replacements I've installed are becoming "beiger" as time goes on.

Yes, Joe Thoen's Trillium. It was years ago, but he had stock of white and colonial white, (beige). He deals with lots of old Trilliums, and Bolers. So he probably goes through them.

Chris McVeigh has posted about a spray bomb paint for plastic that he claims is a perfect match to Colonial White. He used it on the water and electrical connections of his Trillium.

Colonial white and beige are two different colors in the RV world (see below).
Colonial white:
Beige:
While the rest of the trim in the trailer is colonial white, my OEM knobs are definitely beige.

Can you throw a Polar White into your pictures Francesca? I was of the mindset that your Colonial was more towards the Polar end of the spectrum and that the Colonial was somewhere between the two.

That colonial above does look too white...colors don't show real true in these ads- but here's one that at least points up the contrasts.
Dunno why black is there twice- other colors are, left to right: beige, polar white, and colonial white.
