Dear friends,
I am looking for suggestions and past successes from other owners. The slide bolts for the rear
windows of the door of my Compact junior are pot metal and the nubs are broken off so that there is nothing to catch in the holes of the track that would allow
windows to be open and allow for ventilation. The
windows have been screwed shut into the window track. The door, window track and outside frame of the two sliding windows are aluminum, with pinch welds. Two local contacts, one including an RV window manufacturer, Sun View industries, makes windows for
Bigfoot, suggest that I would be best to put the window back and screw it shut as before. Pinch welds would be hard to repair after window taken apart to get the slide bolts out. any one have wisdom or past success? Another sugestion has been to cut out present slide bolts without taking frame apart and add a face monted slide bolt.
