Winegard "Hideaway" Antenna

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone has installed the "Winegard Hidaway" HDTV Antenna. Is there any +'s or -'s with it??

While they claim that it's omni-directional, It can be easily turned within the sleeve to tune it for the strongest signal. It [b]DOES make a difference what direction it is oriented in.

I can't say anything about how this antenna works on an RV, but I have one hanging in my rafters at home, feeding signals to my computer through an elgato hybrid tv tuner, and it gets good very good local reception. Of course, all the local stations are just a few miles away on top of Cheyenne mountain, so I get strong signals.

I expect I'll be mounting it on my Hunter I at some time, but first I'll need to get a 12v TV, or more likely, a laptop computer with TV tuner, that can be powered by the house battery.

Yes, I would like to know how good the reception is in remote areas. I am currently putting a new one on in my Bigfoot. I've used the Shakespear Marine 4350 antenna with great results. Haven't mounted it. Just let it lay inside a cabinet. Highly recommend it but always looking for one that might be better yet.
