Wood fireplace in a fgrv

What does everyone think of this possibility? I found one that is 12 in. by 15 in by 10 in. Any fgrv specific safety concerns or would the usual fireplace safety be all I need to worry about? Love it or hate it let me know your thoughts.

It would definitely be doable, but the area needed would take up WAY to much valuable space, plus it would put out way more heat than you would ever need.

I have used one that size in a hot tent. An uninsulated, single walled tent, about 12x16, in temps well below freezing, and it kept it nice and toasty in there.

In my opinion, not a good idea.

I heat my 14' square wood shop with a wood stove about that size, and most times it puts out to much heat for that space; and as Jim says, it will take up way to much space when you factor in the required clearances to prevent overheating combustible surfaces.

I had a tiny airtight wood stove in my house, until the insurance company wanted to see the build permit. I went to the municipality and got the requirements, which included having it a couple feet or more from any combustible surface and required laying down a pad about 3 X 4 feet.
When I determined that that would block my patio door, I removed the stove and the chimney and donated them to a church garage sale.

I had a tin airtight in my 10 x 14 foot cabin. Loaded it with green wood before bed on night and woke up in the middle of the night in a sauna. The stove was jumping off the floor.

I suspect Pine Cone went up like fire starter, or the owner came to his senses.

I thought of putting in one of those small sardines in my last sailboat up in the pilot house as a secondary heat source for while I was home, but with such a small stove you need to feed it often with little bit's of wood. Decided it wasn't worth the cost. To each their own.

There are several nice wood burning stoves designed for sailboats etc which would be perfect for what you have in mind, but as mentioned above, they are mostly useful for keeping the sailer busy feeding the stove rather than heating the cabin. Like many other yachty things, the are also a great way to separate you from your money as quickly as possible...

We find that with two people and two dogs, one of which is large, it just doesn't take much to warm up the Scamp. Now we aren't in hard winter, but I find making a couple cups of tea pretty much does it. I agree, too much real estate to consider a wood burn stove...we heat with one in the winter, that is enough trouble/ambiance for me.

I'm in Pa, it dropped down to 51` last night. I fired my heater on for a few minutes while I got ready for bed. Wood isn't a practical heat source for trailer's and boats. Go propane or diesel.

Having spent the better part of my life heating with wood to survive Adirondack winters, last thing I'd want to do in my "Keep it Simple" retirement would be to burn wood. A small gas unit maybe, or a loop video of a fire on my laptop.
