1975 pacer 13 foot trailer

The door handle screws are pulling out. I put bigger one in a few years back and now those are pulling out. Has anyone had that problem? I need to fix it and want to do it myself because trailer repair people want a ton of money to do it. Thinking there must be a easy way of doing it like something I can stick in the holes that are there and make it work. Any ideas? That's inside how it attaches

First of all nice looking trailer
I also have a Perris pacer and we are
Located in so California ( I see you are as well! If your have never been you should attend the lake casitas rally in ojai ( just 10 min from Ventura)
Anyway I had same problem I fixed mine with a type of body filler that once set it could be drilled and tapped to screw threads I worked great on a old scamp

A quick and dirty method is to stick one or more wooden match sticks (not the heads!) in the oversize holes.

Sometimes it works...sometimes not!
