Are you taking off windows, vents, lights, trim, etc before you paint?

It is interesting to see that your 82 has the original windows. Mine must have been replaced some time ago with the sliding windows. I wish that I had your windows. If you replace the front and back windows, let me know. I saw a great tip for saving time with the window gaskets. While this is for a truck window, you can see how it would apply to the front and back Scamp windows.

Awesome video. Way helpful. One of these days I will replace the glass but for now I don't mind the little cracks in it. They don't go all the way through. Have you done the glass yourself? It's seems like that is the ticket with the string. Yeah, I got lucky with those windows. They don't leak or anything and the gear that lift it up and down work like they were brand new! Got a week of sun here in charleston coming up so wait for the paint job pic this coming early week I hope. Thanks again!

What an awesome job you're doing. Do you have a first camping outing on the horizon yet?

We do. We are based out of charleston sc so, St Augustine for a quick weekend after the painting (4 hours or so) then a big river trip down the edisto river with the scamp at the final destination for the reveal to some of my friends following this rebuild from day 1. Purchased in Hendersonville nc in April 2013, I'm the second owner. 1500$ bucks. The fella was done camping and wanted a tractor. Been to California and back already got 7000 plus on her belt. Headed back to Ca first week of April with a brand new look!

Also. I got bored in the afternoon and picked up this cheap system from the pawn shop. All under 50 bucks for a whole sound system. Alpine speakers and pioneer head unit.Click image for larger version

I usually write asking others for help as I'm such a newbie. But I just had to write to you today and tell you what a wonderful job you've done with your Scamp! You haven't missed a beat, and are multitalented! I wish I had your skill..and your passion and excitement each little step of the way was a fun Scamp story to read. Congratulations and best wishes with your "new" Scamp!

Thank you Campy time! Quite a compliment. It was fun all around. Today i received my good friends custom art in decal form for the finishing touches. The paint is drying on the one side so I figured I would post. Spray painted pinstripes and the Kaweah mountain range ( Sequoia National Park ) hand drawn and transferred to vinyl by FastSigns in Charleston, SC. Also trip report....just got back from Edisto Beach State Park and the weather couldn't of been better for kayaking and beach cruiser riding!Click image for larger version
