Just installed a 3rd brake light, very easy to do.To many people ride your bumper, just a little extra precaution.

Made a bracket that attached to the spare tire bracket, then I attach the 3rd brake light to that.

Kevin.....
Nice job on the brake light setup.... Always wanted to do that but can't figure how to wire it because when you use your blinkers and brakes at the same time one side blinks and the other is the brake light.....so lets say you wired it to the brake light on the left side, when you put the left blinker on does the center (third light) blink too?_____ there's probably a simple answer but i can't figure it out.
thanks for any help.
Joe

You just can't just hookup to your tail lights, you must buy a 3rd brake light kit. I had a NOS in my garage and that is what I used. The left and right brake wires go into a small box then to the 3rd brake light.

Here is a web page for just the LOGIC CIRCUIT FOR THIRD BRAKE LIGHT box

http://www.carparts.com/LOGIC-CIRCUIT-FOR-...85_N__10618.car You would still need a 3rd brake light (or a tail light from a car). You could us anything with a red lens or custom make one with some lettering in side the light.

BE CAREFUL! Some of these logic circuits will not work with LED lights.

If your trailer has LED tail lights, like mine, you need a different logic circuit:
