We are back home before another week away and I weighted the trailer (with camping stuff in it) it is 500Kg or 1100 lbs (I have no water or LP storage). I think it's safe to say that it is about 1000lbs empty. My SX4 pulled it no problem - 11 litres of gasoline per 100K vs about 8.5L without the trailer. I was passing other trucks uphill, pulling 20-25 footer's too

I was hoping for 800lbs but not bad.

I'm a happy camper!

EDIT: it weighted 460Kg still on the car, so if that is the hitch weight, it's 88lbs difference.

Yeah Vickie, it made the counter a bit higher then I would have liked but it is fine - only a inch higher then original.

I'll have to get one the same or smaller if it ever conks out on us!

So I built a screen door and it was 'mostly successful'

See attached pics.

This door was cut down to size from a previous teardrop camper add-on I built. It took a lot of time to build and is pretty cute, so I really wanted to make it work on the Boller.

The door is very light - made of Corro-Plast (like plastic cardboard panel), aluminum U channel (siliconed around perimeter and about 3/8" square) and the no-see-em mesh (screening). There is also some thin plexiglass corners riveted to the U channel and a cross member U channel as well (see pic 3). The mesh is glue-gunned on (I like silicon and glue-gun glue, in case you haven't detected that yet

)

I'd say it was completely successful except that it cannot be in the closed position with the main door closed - not enough space for the main door's handle. It follows the curvature of the Bolers side so as not to interfere with the dinette seating, but I followed it too closely. If I would have relaxed the curve a bit more on the hinge side, then the main door's handle would have had room. I knew the handle was a potential problem, but I was thinking it would be higher and miss the mid section (I never checked), just pressing in on the no-see-em mesh. As it is, it hits the mid section of the Corro-Plast and not the screening

I did make it so it can be put on/off with 4 wing-nuts, so if it is too annoying we can remove it easy enough. It needs to be able to come off anyway as I also have two semi-recumbent bikes that ride inside now

It's not terrible to have in the open position at night, but protrudes about 8" past the pantry into the floor area. 'The Boss' doesn't mind it and would rather have it on the not, for now anyway.

EDIT: oh yeah, I had to adjust the port-a-pottie door and mess up the wall covering, but that's ok, cuz I don't like the wall paper I used anyway (it bubbles and lifts with humidity) so it's getting recovered tomorrow with vinyl.

Hi Jean. Thx, and yes I do have the old windows still.

They would need new seals and one of the cranks is stripped (not sure of the other one). There are no black plastic covers for the rivet anymore either - they all broke as they were very brittle.

Make me an low offer and pay for shipping and they are yours!

EDIT: I'll try to post some pics tomorrow, Jean-L - also, if you have someone close to Toronto Ontario that you know, I could deliver them maybe?

Ha ha - there are lots of other reno's I've seen that are as nice or nicer!

Pictures do hide some of my imperfections (my patience for such got thinner as it took much more work then I thought, but worth it in the end).

One of my last tasks was to shroud the fridge so the heat off the sides of it would go out the side trailer vent (not be inside the cabinets and trailer). My main ingredients were corro-plast (shrouding walls), duct tape and silicon... oh, and maybe 3 screws. Mind you, one could argue that that's what 'duct' tape is for!

Two good friends were silicon and a glue gun for this project!

EDIT: Seriously, I do find that CLEAR silicon (pigmented doesn't seem as strong?!) is a great camper glue as it will give with components that expand and contract due to temperature, but still hold. Also it's not effected by moisture. It just takes long to 'set up' so clamping etc is required.
