Correction

The area holding the lights is definitely molded right into the fiberglass body.

Sorry! It came to me overnight -- while the tail-light holder is definitely molded fibreglass, it is done separately and then blind-riveted into a hole in the main camper body.

See attached photo.

more on tailights

Des,

Thanks for your response since our Bolers were "born" at the same place.

I have attached a couple of more photos of the tailight details showing the housing with the aftermarket lights removed. As you can see there is no cutout for the standard tailight assembly. If one looks closely you can see a circular outline etched into the fiberglass at the bottom of the housing photo and at the top of the more close up photo. After cleaning off the oxidation this outline in also evident on the other side tailight area. I guess I will just have to stay with the box like assembly or go through the hassle of actually cutting out the holes
and trying to find the right fixtures. Does anyone have other ideas?

Thanks for all the feedback. Perhaps I will just keep it as an "ugly duckling".

Sam

Sam, I like them. As I've said before, I'd rather be one of one than one of many and you have something unique. I'd recognize your trailer at a gathering!!

I agree with Donna. Were they a test? Who knows. It would be nice to see what fits into the original holes.
The etching or scribing appears to support that what you have is a unique original.

funky tailight

Thanks to all who responded. I agree with Donna and Roy that they are unique
so I will most likely keep them as is. If anyone has any more info on this
"unique" tailight arrangement please let me and the others in this thread know.

Sam

My guess would be a that this was a sold prototype. Small companies can't afford to make prototypes, then destroy them like a big manufacturing company can. Enjoy the uniqueness!

I know this is a really old thread, but a picture just popped up on my timeline on Facebook of a trailer with these tail lights. The seller says the tail lights are original. So, I thought I'd just add this pic to the thread.
