We've been working away at our '79 Jubilee and the end is in sight! I've re-installed the kitchen window, just 4 more to go!
. There was rotted wood in the back corners that I've replaced, the counter 'backsplash' and the two uprights on the left end of the counter were rebuilt/replaced due to their being swollen and rotten. Counter top replaced because it was just damn ugly! The one item we did buy is a 2 burner cooktop. The one that was there works but the price was right... My wife did all the
painting, Varathaning and curtains. We found exact replacement door latches for all the doors, had the screen door re-screened and replaced some rotted wood in the entry door and painted the outside. It`s had a hard life but the 300.00 price tag for a complete new door and frame is not in the cards this year. Maybe get it re-skinned in the
fall. Anyway, here are a few pics. Comments welcome.
This is the original ugleeeee countertop Looks to be original brown.
and here are the sink and cooktop in said countertop
...and the reno demo. Doors are off for a fresh coat of varathane. The po`s
varnished everything....even the perimeter of the sink. Doing a scuff sanding to the doors it just came off like skin after a bad sunburn
