Question Access to fresh water holding tank.

We have a 19 ft 2008 Scamp. I have winterized the unit. In the spring when it is time to flush out the RV antifreeze---there is no way to access the inside of the tank---so I can flush out the antifreeze. Can an access be cut into the top if the tank----if so, what should be used?
Thanks for any help: Jerry

If you do decide to go with the ABS cover above, do make sure it's the type of ABS approved for use with potable water. If it is, it will carry the marks described at this link.

Mile High Thank You !

Donna & Francesca: Thank you for the information on using a boat deck plate. We do have a West Marine here in Denver. It is great to know how much campers care for each other----- Thanks---- Jerry

Jerry, the advantage of deck plates is you can thoroughly dry and inspect your fresh water tank. No more groddies! Make sure any caulking is for portable water too.

And, once it's dry... you know you don't need to put anti-freeze in it. Right? You can disconnect the fresh water tank and using your pump... pump anti-freeze right from a jug into the plumbing system... by passing the fresh water tank AND the hot water tank (if you have one).

Good luck!
