Yes, it really is that easy!
You can buy a $5 shore water inlet and use an inline regulator on your hose (about $9) or you can buy a shore water inlet with a built in regulator for about $25 at any RV place.
Installation requires cutting a hole in the side of your
Scamp, but the flange on the inlet will cover it.
Whether you need a new faucet, depends on whether you have an onboard water pump or a hand pump. Since you have a 1974, I'm guessing you'll need a separate faucet. A single bar faucet looks and works good and can be bought for under $15.
If you decide to add an onboard water pump then you can use the same faucet with the addition of a check valve in the water line. Some pumps are already eqipped with one. The shorewater connection already has back flow protection.
