Adding external lighting

Hi. I've got an 86 Bigfoot B17 and I'm looking to add some external ambient lighting on my canopy. What's the best way to breach the wall or tie into the existing wiring? Ideally this lighting would have it own switch inside also. Thanks for any and all suggestions!

Cheers.
