I went to Home Depot today. They are now stocking a small portable A/C made by LG for $279. The A/C is about 12"x13"X 30" tall. It is small enough to be eaisly mounted in a Scamp closet or just set on the floor. The outlet hose is about 6" in dia. and could be eaisly vented through the trailer wall if closet mounted. If just set in the floor an adapter could be made to exhaust air out the window over the stove on the newer Scamps. I had brought up this type of A/C before but they were quite large. 7,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Dehumidifier Function (67 Pints/Day) and Remote Control-LP0711WNR at The Home Depot

Good suggestion Eddy!
Sure beats the $600+ bucks for a roof mounted unit that is prone to low clearance and wind drag.
I almost bought one like this a few years ago, 9000 BTU, about thr same footprint, a big plus is not having the weight when you aren't going to need the AC.
My sister has one in her van and loves it. She vented it through the wall with a pretty chrome vent. She upgraded to the 9000 BTU, but took it back and went back to the smaller unit because it also had a dehumidifier for winter. She said the smaller unit is plenty of cooling power for the van.
You might need to put in some vents so it gets enough air circulation inside the closet, do you think?
