Area under window

What kinds of things do you do to the wood strip directly under the window? The PO put the table attachment under it. Not crazy about that either. Looking for ideas....Click image for larger version

Can I presume, since you mentioned a table, you're planning to create a small dinette in that space and not a bunk (that's what the ledge is for)...?

Some people use the ledge to attach some kind of shelf or storage cubbies- handy to have near the table. Some use it as an attachment point for the table. Or just cut it off.

It may depend on whether it is still solidly attached to the shell.

Here's a bookshelf:

That's beautiful!

The wood deck area seems a little rough but solid. The bunk bed area was converted to Dinette by PO and original dinette area will just stay the bed area. Some extra storage would be awesome. I don't plan on rearranging anything while camping so not really concerned about converting dinette to couch or anything like that.

Not mine, but I agree- that's a nicely done rehab. I still have (and use) the original bunks in front. I've seen a number of variations, including one that had a second shelf underneath with a lip- handy for sunglasses, cellphones, and other small personal items.
