Baby moons for scamp 13

Hi,

I have a 2012 scamp 13 with I think is 13" tires? If I want to put baby moon hubcaps on, do they just snap inside the wheel well? I read somewhere here about innies and outies? Anybody know what size I would buy from EBay or other place?

Thank you,
Wendy

A pic of your wheel would help to see what you have to start with.

Here is an old post on this.

I got some for my Boler from hubcap Mikes. I sent them a picture of the rim and they confirmed they would fit.

Thanks very much! I saved hubcap mikes on my favorites menu. My scamp is in storage so I'll need to check out the wheels more closely to see exactly what I need.

Cheers!

Wendy

A traditional Baby Moon will not work on your wheel but you could go for a full chrome wheel cover like they put on custom cars in the 50's

Try these

Smoothie Hubcaps, Baby Moon or Moon Hubcaps Wheel Covers Kustom Car Moons

We just got a baby moon for our 1974 Boler from Vintage Trailer Supply. Very helpful folks! There are a some really cheapo ones out there, so beware!

Baby moons for scamp 13

As Rick said baby moons won't work on those wheels. Like Rowdy I bought a set of moons from Vintage Trailer Supply. The quality is ok and the price is fair but I don't put much faith in made in China Chrome. I put a couple of chrome aftermarket mirrors on my old car project two years ago and the finish is pitting already even though the car is stored inside and generally not driven in rain. I keep the moons waxed and store them inside for the winter.

You are correct on the China Crome. My husband builds street rods, so we have been hitting the car show swap meets for baby moons. Vendors have told us that all new baby moons come from China. Before ordering from V T S, we had a vendor looking for us. When he finally got one in, he called to say it was too cheap and flimsy to sell to us! The VTS baby is OK. Hubby sprayed Endrust on the inside before installing. Good fit on my Boler wheel!

When it comes to fit moons on your trailer wheels... you have to figure out if the wheels have innies or outties. Sounds like a belly button doesn't it? But it's really about the NUBS and where they're on the wheels whether or not on kind fits or another... and where you buy them.

Don't ASSUME. Otherwise you're liable to buy something that won't work for YOUR trailer.

Best of luck!

I called mike at Hubcap Mike’s and he told me that the moonies and Fiestas are meant for cars with suspension systems and he wouldn’t trust them on a Scamp 13 trailer. (Donna, our Escape 21’ is ‘ours’ and the Scamp 13’ is ‘mine’!). Anyway, he said I could silicone the perimeter of the hubcap. What do you think? Anyone done this? Anyone had problems with them popping off?

so happy my Escape has alloy wheels. Bonus points for them almost exactly matching the factory alloys on my 2002 F250
