Bathroom Door

I am new to Scamp living and this might be a crazy question but has anyone removed the 16 Scamp bathroom door and just used a well-attached shower curtain? I thought it might help for access and airflow but what about bathroom "containment"?:

I don't know about Scamp mods specifically, but many members here have ditched their bathroom doors for various alternative methods of enclosure of their shower/bathroom areas.

Judging from pictures I've seen the EggCamper comes from the factory that way.

I've done exactly what you're considering because the bathroom door on my Burro swings out into the aisle, if anyone is standing there I can't open the door. I used the large size 3M brand command hooks to hold a wooden dowel from which I hang a cut down shower curtain.

I don't know if you can see from this picture, but I put in a plastic (flexible) folding door.
I added the board and track across the top of the opening and hung the door.
I cut it to length to have it drip inside the shower pan.
I can't tell you how well it works since we haven't used it yet.



Here is the link to the Lowe's listing. It is made from PVC and can be cut to size fairly easily.
The closure is a magnetic latch and has handles on each side.
Not fancy, but probably adequate and light.

It's your trailer and you need to do what makes you feel comfortable. Frankly, I'm too modest to go with just a curtain... and I travel solo 99% if the time! Then too, depending on the layout of your trailer may influence your decision. The bathroom in a side-bath Scamp is right across from the doorway. If I had a curtain, I'd need to close the outside door. YMMV

If airflow and heat are your goal then just adding a vent to the bottom on the door will help a bit with that... I know a number of folks have done that as well.

We'll be dumping the heavy weight door but haven't decided on what we'll use instead and have entertained both the options mentioned here. I think we should just use the curtain but we'll see...

Hmmm. I was thinking about just that myself the last few weeks my door blocks the gas heater when it wants to work.. Plus it drips in the floor when I open it after a shower even after I towel it off.
