Battery Box

I'm looking at this battery box and was wondering if anyone has tried it?
Cabela's: Cabela's Battery Box

It offers external terminals that would be nice for hooking up a solar panel, and a battery status indicator. Plus, it has two external 12v ports. Seems like an easy way to add 12v to the outside of your trailer.

Yes, I used 2 of them on my last EggCamper trailer. They worked great, but when I hooked up dual batteries, only one gauge works, but makes hooking up accessories easier.

I was in Cabela's today, and their group 27 deep cycle batteries are only $89-regularly $139. Don't know the amp/hour rating.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm thinking I might go ahead and order one. I have enough points at cabelas to cover it.

I have one similar to it I bought for my Jon Boat.
It's the Minkota brand. Good for hooking up the trolling motor.
It has a resistor for the trolling motors.
And I check my battery charge status periodically with the push button gauge.

I'm guessing yours is like this one?

Looks much like the cabelas one.

Seeing that the Minkota was over $56 on Amazon, I went ahead and ordered the $35 box at Cabelas.

The Cabela's box also has 2 x12v receptacles on the outside, great for hook ups but not good if the battery is exposed, mine were in an aluminum box which I had to line with wood in case the battery terminals got close to the sides.

The difference in price is probably the wiring for the trolling motor.
I bought a cheaper box to start with, but took it back and got the Minkota because of the application. The other boxes are great otherwise.
