Bed for DAD is done!

I built a ply wood deck on top of the "kitchen". My feet towrds the kids bunks and head over main bed.

First time out will be next weekend. Report to follow. Still need top figure the support thig out.

Any ideas?

Indeed, I'm a skinny guy (145 lb.) and hopping up and in is actually easier than "climbing over" the wife. When I put my head under the cabinet, It was a few inches from my face and I had a panic attack. With my head and upper body over the bed and next to the window, I should be fine. Time will tell, we leave Tues for a week at Knoble's in PA.

Bad news...

The bed failed the test (F+). It will come out before the next trip in two weeks. The kitchen will go back to normal. The short story is the struture and support were great (A+). However, I could not reach down and pull up my covers. It was a bit chilly. My 8 year old loved it and did fine, but I worried about her falling and put her back in her own bunk.

I spend the rest of the week in the big tent on a big air mat in a cozy slepping bag. We are planning to sell (or trade) the '92 Scamp 13 this fall. I would like to find a small HTT (i.e Kiwi or Cub). I am going to try to post the Scamp here at Fiberglassrv, but am not should how or even how much to ask.?????? Any suggestions.

I have two more trips this year, then I wil spit shine her and put her on the blocks for bid.

Sorry to hear the bed didn't work out for you Dennis. Since your daughter liked it, have you considered putting side rails on the bed to keep her contained? At least that would get you through for the next couple of trips.

The bed is on its way out and the kids will be back in the bunks. That situation was fine for them. I will return to the "Queen" bed with the wife or the "dog house" tent and air mat. It was actually nice and cool. I have already started looking at bigger used campers. But the prices are crazy for anything nice and a new/used TV is even sicker.

Any ideas on what my 92 Scamp 13 is worth?? Well kept with normal use??

Two possibilities for you - put a bunk over the queen bed OR put a screened porch on the trailer that will allow you to sleep there on a nice air mattress frame bed.

The bed has become just part of the issue. Now "we" want a "real" bathroom that my two gals can use in the weee hours. The little porta john just is getting very old. So bigger beds and a real john are in the future. I'm just goin' to put her back into the best shape I can and let a new family have her.

The ole Scamp has been unmodified and the Kitchen is normal again. I cleaned her up and will make two more short trip this year. The new TV might be an '05 Tundra DC w/ a V8 (anyone have one ???). The new trailer is yet to be seen. Depends on How much $$$ I blow on a new TV.

Anyway, can anyone suggest some good ways to sell the Scamp this fall??? It needs a good home in the NJ area.

Yep, and if you get it, I think that you will be very happy with it. Ours has been a great tow vehicle.
