Before & After - 13' 1969 Boler

My boyfriend and I purchased a Boler back at the beginning of April in hopes of having her done for an excursion next weekend (May Long.)
Well, I'm so excited to share with you guys the progress that we've made thus far! Although there is a ton more to accomplish, I'm very impressed with ourselves!
So far we've spent ~$400.00 on renovations (including supplies.. brushes, trays, glue, nails, etc.)












We still need to stain the counter, re-install the stove and sink, and insert weather stripping around the door.

Any advice as to what to use for weather stripping? The stuff we picked up ended up being too thick to the point where we couldn't even close it.

What paint did you use on the cabinets? I'm thinking of going darker in my scamp too, and I really love the way yours came out

ETA, this may work for your door seal - Airstream Door Gasket

Scamp also sells something similar but at a higher price and with higher shipping.

Thanks! We used Behr Interior paint from Home Depot. Although, next time, I'd probably go with their exterior paint. The grey scratches easily and a gloss coat over top didn't help (it looked awful).

I looked into that Airstream Door Gasket and I 100% will be ordering it... Problem being it said it would take between 4 to 45 days to get here. I need a quick fix for the time being as they are forecasting rain next weekend, any ideas?

For your door seal, try 1/2" wide foam weather stripping with a self-adhesive backing. Various thicknesses are available, depending on your door gap.

There is a black version and a white version. The white foam is softer and should work best.

Home Depot or Canadian Tire should have it in the hardware dept.

Nice job, the paint inside will harden up with time and be more difficult to damage, try and be careful, i scratched mine up quite a bit with poor packing habits the first trip out.

Hahahah! Thank you! He's a Great Dane (he's very sensitive about his size so don't mention it ) and fits perfectly in the trailer with us

Looks great. If you have trouble finding weatherstripping, try an automotive store as they have more selection. We wanted 1" wide and thin for our door and they had all kinds as it is often used on a truck canopy.
I just picked up Melamine paint for my cupboard doors - they said a month to properly cure any paint. It is more durable in the long run and is now water cleanup which is more user friendly.

Thanks Walt! They actually go back to 1968. Ours is registered as a '68, but only 100 were made that year. We searched and searched and found out that ours is #153 which lead us to believe she's actually a '69!

I'm sure we'll have an amazing time We do a ton of backcountry camping, so this little egg is a luxury! I'll update once we're home!

That's fantastic advice... We went with just a closed foam weather strip for this upcoming trip, doubling it up where there were bigger gaps... I'm having a hard time closing the door on it, though. An upgrade is in order once home.

Being careful in a small space with a Great Dane and 6'2" man is going to be a task in itself. Wish the grey paint luck.
