Bigfoot overhead drop down compartment

on a B17CB....this is the "Mach 2" version...

I made a stand alone divider "thing" that seperates the area into two 28" wide compartments (his and hers clothes storage) and a smaller linen closet. It is held in place by two screws into the bottom (could be quickly removed/moved if desired)

I had to rig the right latch with a spring and pull cord to release the panel (pic 3)....I don't normally use the left latch....clothes are light)

this worked pretty well.... lots of organized space and dropping the panel down made it real easy to load/unload before/after a trip....the only "fly in the ointment" was the doors ...the standard spring schocks don't open the doors all the way up...so got rid of the schocks, I turned the doors upside down and installed latches at the tops....

I then installed cargo netting on the back of the doors...

Very interesting idea.
Did you install a piano hinge at the bottom of the panel and then cover with rat fur or carpet?
How is the panel held up in place?

standard....

that's the standard BF "kiddie bed" fold down thing.....yeah there's a piano hinge (from the fatory) as well as the rat fir covering to hide it...just a big open storage area with the classic spring loaded doors (found all over the trailer)
