lift and doors

hope you got the idea of the lift for your trailers. the doors are a blessing no more banging them shut and then to find them reopened with all the goods on the floor. Patricia<img src=http://www.fiberglassrv.com/board/uploads/3e62894bdfb3e!cid_E85AB286-3DED-469D-B760-279A8FAED83C.gif/>

Mud flap mount

Square tube welded on frame. Flap bolted to square rod fits inside tube. Set screw holds it in place. Remove for 4x4 wheeling.

Most Excellent! Thanks for sharing! I think I'm gonna copy what you have done on my Scamp. Did you have to trim the fender openings?

Fender wells.

Yes, I did have to cut the wheel well opening. I used the CJ flares for pattern and made sure the wheel would slide in. Had to jack it up a fair bit. My rims have 235 Wrangler installed.

cabinet locks

Hans
Where did you get the locks on your cabinets and who makes them? I am still out on business and I do not get to view much, but you have alot of good ideas. I am trying to get my wife to buy me a jeep while I am gone, but she is not cooperating with me. I may have to wait until I get home. Also how do I get to the site that you mentioned "chute?".

Chute

:red
This thread is the Chute Lake. My other thread is on pg 3 of this forum under "72 boler" upgrade.
Several companies now make these locks. One is "Hafele". We buy ours wholesale in Vancouver BC at Western Marine but any major marine and/or cabinet hardware supply store should be able to get them for you. Cost should be around US$8-9/ea. They are available in chrome, brushed stainless and brass plating. They have a snap shut and when you push the button in, the striker bar locks the door. Another push unlocks. You may need to beef up the door frame, like I had to.(3/4")
Go buy your Jeep, let her pick out the options. My next choice (when I strike GOLD) is the new RUBICON Wrangler!!!!!!!!
Drooling in BC,
Hans

Note: The push locks cost has risen to US20.-, still worth it though!

I'm trying to buy the jeep

Well, I have one small problem getting a Jeep. I know some may veiw this as unexceptable, but I am in the military. I am presently deployed for awhile. Some winter vacation, not. I'm just glad that I can view this site on occasionaly. My plans have changed since I left. I told my wife that I am buying a jeep upon my return and I want to get my trailer complete. I think I deserve it after this. It would be nice to use this summer, I hope. Thanks for the info.

Unacceptable?

I hope we *never* return to those "fun days" of the late 60s and early 70s when people spat on our military.

Unacceptable? I should hope not!

Best of luck to you-- and LOTS of fun with jeep + trailer when you get back!

I'm back

Well I'm back.:wave I had talked myself out of the jeep only to have had my Mother talk me back into it. I now have a Jeep Wrangler and after numerous phone calls and a lot of frustration, I have the knobs on order also. The knobs are costing $12.98 each U.S.,:omy thats bad. I plan on starting my remodeling again in a month.
