Hello folks,

Long time lurker here.

I've always loved Bolers, they're a great match for my principal distraction, old Land Rovers.
My Boler has the typical issues so I've decided to do a complete refit.
Axle, paint, new wood interior etc.

I intend to shoot some simple video along the way, who knows how quick it'll get done.

The first installment is up at....

Cheers

OMG, Peter, this will be my favorite series on "tv"! I am a newbie, looking for a camper, with a husband who has no interest. So I'm on my own trying to learn. I've been reading alot about axles needing replaced, and wondered "what IS an axle, how do you replace it, etc.". You explained and showed it so well! I am encouraged. Please keep the episodes coming!!

Hi Vickie,

There is a lot of good info here on axle issues.

You can buy a new replacement axle here.....

But I'm more interrested in Roy in TO's approach......

By the time you've read his excellent thread, you'll be an expert.

I knew this is what I wanted to do but it's nice to see it's been done, thanks Roy.

Another major issue with Bolers is poor design in a few structural spots.
One of the worst is at the forward, bottom of the door opening.
The bowed steel "frame" stops at the top of the gaucho platform and these trailers bow out at this point and seperate from the floor pan causing all sorts of grief.

Again Roy has addressed this problem as well here....

Cheers
Peter

It was an excellent series. Too bad he stopped. I was always disappointed he never got to part 4. I checked his YouTube channel today but there's no updates.
