Steve and Janna... LOVE that round window you've put in the front .

Sam, that's the amazing thing about these jigs - strong joints, quick to assemble, and you can use the piece right away; no keeping them clamped while you wait for the glue to dry. And---if you take care to hide the pockets; no one will be the wiser (it took me a while to realize that trick).

Donna -- the round window was an impulse buy. We're pleased with how it turned out. It looks interesting from the outside as well.

I worked in a kitchen cabinet factory for a short while. My job was to make all those holes with a commercial automatic machine. Funny how "sticks" can become furniture. I plan on getting a jig like that when I finish closing in a structure I have.

Yup, have used pocket screws for years as well. Right up there with biscuit joinery.

On butt joints the two parts tend to slip when driving the screw. Use a vice grip style clamp to straddle the joint and then drive the screw. Here is Kreg's clamp but others make a very similar version including the "Vice Grip" brand. The clamp has to have the round pad at each end of the clamping arms.

I got my jig today and it's nice! I put a couple of board together and it was fast, easy and really put the wood together. I am impressed.
