Just wondering if these would work in a Casita or Scamp? Anyone have one?
Anyone have an opinion??

humm for $39.95 + 7.95 S&H I'm thinking ya could make one. There's even a diagram that shows how the thing is made. Besides molded lightweight fiberglass trailer doors are typically smaller than most RV doors so the door referenced probably wouldn't fit very well as is. Jackie in Vancouver made a screen door using a piece of dowel and lace curtain material. I think she sewed some weights in the bottom seam to help hold it down. She uses the aluminum gutter over the door to hold the dowel. Easy peazy...mother of invention!

I made one for my Eurovan VW Camper. Velcroed two overlapping pieces of screen behind the sliding door. Used fishing weights in the bottom hem to keep the fiberglass screen hanging down. Worked OK but no good for "no-see-ums" (sand fleas). When the Trade winds blew in off the Atlantic in our Florida Keys site, the doors didn't stay in place.
On the Trillium I've installed a "Phantom" screen that rolls onto a vertical roller behind the door hinges. Best mod I ever added to the TT! Happy swatting Alistair

Well one questions only begs another. I inquired about the horizon awning for my friends
Scamp and now that I see her cool folding screen door with the rubber sweep at the bottom I would love one. Has anyone put a Scamp screen door on their Casita?

Regards,
Alva

Alva, I already asked Scamp if they would put one on for me and they said "no"
I wish they would re consider. They won't work on the Casita's and I guess I can understand that but still I would love it if they would. Texas is a long ways from Mn.
Just thinking-----------I wonder if we bought a Casita screen door and had them shipped up if someplace like camping world would do it for us?
I see you are in Wisconsin. If you find someone to do it, let me know.
Anyone know of a place to install one for us women that are NOT handy with tools????

As you can see in the pic of our new Italian friends Rob and Suzy's Lander, there is some sort of fabric curtain in the door. Wonder what it is for

The self storing screen door attached to a wooden insert ("banana") that I bolted to the iside wall and up against the end of the bunk. The screen door unrolls and comes up to the closet side where it is held by a magnetic catch. I lose about three inches of entranceway space at the hinge side of the door and the screen totally retracts into its casing. (Think old school slide projector screen).
My Canadian brand was a MIRAGE...same as the US Phantom brand.
I cant see why it wouldn't fit in a Casita or Scamp.
Cheers...Alistair

Hello DonInChatt,

This is a tent.
this tent is much profit versus the bugs

the tent of the bath in the image is equal to tent of the door
In this image you can see it better

Like Don, I think the material in Rob's trailer is more like a "curtain" than a "tent". My guess at a translation of
Quote:

would be
"This is a curtain. This curtain is very useful for controlling bugs."

Then
Quote:
would be something like
"The bathroom curtain in this image is similar to the door curtain."

I had assumed that the curtain in the bathroom was just for privacy, since our windows usually have built-in screens.

Rob, I hope that I have understood you correctly. Thanks for the information.
Rob, spero che li abbia capiti correttamente. Grazie per le informazioni.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

Rob, is the curtain in the door of your trailer to prevent insects from entering?

Don
Yes
It is very good to prevent insects from entering...
and than It is very vintage... in style with old caravan...
There are many colors... end the your prise, in Italy, is 15/20 euro
This curtan have a unly defect... it removes little light to the interior's carvan

With my "Vinnie" Ventura I put a strip of Velcro on the top inside edge of door. I attached that black screening. I just roll it up when not in use. "And For This Evening's Entertainment" we have swat the no-see-um's with my electric tennis racket fly swatter. I make sweeping motions across the ceiling zzzzit, zzzzit. My friend on the bed didn't appreciate it at all. Sorry woke up this am. with an over-exhuberant sense of humor.
