We've had that same cargo net style in our SUV before and it was super stretchy. Make sure the kid wont end up hanging of the side but in still in the net if it stretches that far, lol. Also, unless you secure the bottom side of the net it could stretch enough to allow a child to slip under it. These things are like elastic man!
