Cabinet Doors

Well the weekend project is pretty much completed replaced the cabinet doors in the old 73' Boler. I decided to use 1/2" prefinished good two side birch plywood. Decided I didn't want the big ol nasty latches like the factory so opted for spring loaded hinges and a inset door magnets (being shipped). Also, to cut down on weight we opted for a 1" round finger hole instead of a pull. Also decided to leave the edge grain exposed on the plywood and put a small chamfer on the face side with my router the exposed edge was then treated to two coats of varathane finish. Here are some pics of the finished product.

Luke hinge placement was exactly the same. It is nice that they have not changed hinges much in the last 39 years. I went a little bit larger with the doors to hide the latch side holes. Here is a link to the magnetic catch that I have on order. Magnetic Catch For Inset Doors - Rockler Woodworking Tools Also, I got the flooring down this afternoon just need to tidy up and post pics tomorrow.

interesting - my hinges are on the other side. they're in dire need of replacing tho, so I'm interested in your project.

I too like the idea of a hidden latch, my only fear of magnetic is if they'd stay shut on a really rough road? we've been on a few that our old latches have opened - but because the current hinges aren't solid - I'm not sure it's all the issue of the latches themselves. Thanks for the link!

Luke that is why I have used the spring hinges as well. I am hoping in combination it will work.

Flooring Completed

Here are a few pictures of the completed laminate flooring much better than the carpet that was in previous. Also, started building a new table today out of 3/4" good two side prefinished birch same look as the cabinets. Just need to varathane the cut edges and install the leg tomorrow. Will post pics when complete.

Table and Extension

Well pretty much finished off the table and extension as seen below. Decided to order a new table leg from vintage trailer supply, once thats in it will be ready for use. Matches the cabinets quite well. I decided to put two more coats of varathane on top of the prefinish as this will get quite a bit of use.

Cabinet Doors

You did a very nice job on your project. I had solved the cabinet door opening up on very rough 4x4 trails/roads by installing "PHLIP-IT" latches on all my doors. They are hidden when unlatched, and barely visible when latched. I got them from Phlip-It RV Cabinet Latches They are a little pricey but will outlast the Scamp, and can be removed to be installed in my new future egg at some point.
Happy Trails
