Camper Door to Awning Open Space-Rain Issue

Hi, New Scamp 2016 model owners here! We are considering running PVC pipe along the back of the awning housing to keep the rain away from the door. Has anyone been successful in mounting such without having to anchor it with screws?

The small diameter pipe works great. The most difficult part is deciding what to use for caulk. This could be the start of a long debate.

You could try something like this.

This is standard white J-channel from Lowe's, vinyl siding department, attached with 3M double sided tape. It is the strip that goes at the bottom of the siding. Meant for exterior use, it is impervious to UV deterioration. Mine has been up there for about 4 years now and has no intention of coming loose. The white is a perfect color match for the white gel coat.

I think we'll seek out those products.

For my Scamp I simple cut a pool noodle in half and stuffed it up into the gap when needed.

Thank you all for the great ideas! We may start out with the least invasive pool noodle for our trip coming up (rain forecasted) and work toward a permanent solution as suggested.

We filled the gap with soft vinyl tubing a bit larger than the gap, so it would squeeze into the gap. then caulked with clear silicone.

I had forgotten about all the pool noodles we bought months ago to put over the wiring that'll be "exposed" inside the below-the-bed bins...WOW, thanks, all, it'll be a lot nicer to see a pool noodle than loose wires!

I know this has nothing to do with leaks...
