Cool inexpensive center caps for trailer rims!! and New Trill Tires

Hi All.. So I bought new rims for my 1976 Trillium 1300. At first I tried a set of ST205/75/14 tires and rims... Look great BUT I find the clearance was a TAD tight for my liking- Although It would probably not rub - I found them a bit big and "wiggly" even though they were trailer tires.
Good old princess auto took them back (never rolled on them) and I grabbed a set of ST175/75/13 As the original size I figured OK back to original.. They looked weeney and just too thin. my Wife commented that the other ones looked "substantial" but the 13" look like toy tires... SIGH. So what to do?. Well I bought a set of 14" white Carlyle rims and after reading a pile on this forum and calculations- I figured a set of P195/70/R14 tires Being lower profile the diameter is JUSt larger than the 175/75/13's But are far more substantial and feel with less side to side wiggle due to the lower profile. The loading is far within their capability with the trillium!.
So I bought a set of nice chrome lug nuts and all is good- OR SO I THOUGHT. What to do with the UGLY bearing caps sticking through the rims. I searched for center caps to dress them up. Everything I found looked like standard RV Garb and pretty expensive! So In one of my Almost daily trips to Princess auto (on my way home from work). I spied these meat as a pin Center caps- Please dont LAUGH 350 ml Stainless Steel Mug | Princess Auto These fit PERFECTLY in the center of the Carlyle 14" rims (slight knock in.. and the neat as a pin flange clears the inside of the hub when the wheel bolts on. They look great!
At $4.99 each and stainless steel.. They are just the thing ( just cut the handle and then wiggle the ends to break the spot welds!)
Pretty happy with how these wheels look and the stability of the P tires!
Happy Camper!
Cheers
Dave
