Have you considered doing something like that on the other side?

I've wondered if non-permanent shelves on both sides could also be used as support
for vertical "back cushions" if we did an occasional/part-time front dinette option ...
something like I've been considering and Jim actually did. (See the following thread.)

Ray, the other side, next to the stovetop, I have a set of drawers with a cutting board anchored to the top. The room behind the drawers and space towards the front of the Scamp I use to store paper towels, packaged coffee beans and a plastic bag holder.
I took a picture of it today so you can see it. I glued some leftover fabric that I had from the seat cushion to the front of the drawers. My clothes lived in those drawers last summer and will probably live there again this summer.
