Really excellent work. Makes me want to throw away my flint and rock and get a real tool.
Maybe then.....

Pay it forward is great!

Wow! Very nice! I was wanting a shelf for my coffee, so of course I pointed this out to long-suffering hubby who pointed to the power tools. Damn! Wish I wasn't so handy sometimes!
Not that I will do nearly so beautiful of a job!

Just a very nice thing!

Good day gmw photos! (please excure my crummy photo!)

If you decide to make a little shelf similar to Sharon's I'd like to point out that in order to provide a [more-or-less] vertical surface onto which the "shelf" is attached (thereby providing a level shelf) you have to deal with the fact that the window frame isn't vertical... I overcame this little detail by cutting a little "notch" in the uprights... this "notch" IS NOT 90-DEGREES, but I can't remember what it is. The "notch" also provides a fool-proof way to index the uprights to the window frame. The attached photo and "drawing" may illustrate what I'm trying to say.

Maybe not (!)

Grammy, it's the kind of latch that is on some windows so they can't be raised from the outside. It's similar to this one.
