Custom Curved Tongue Box

Hey everyone.

I'm putting a ton of work into making my new 1978 Boler look new, as well as have a it's own unique look. One of the coolest things I've done so far is the tongue box for my batteries, axes, sandwich maker, etc...

Anyway, here's the album!

You'll see the last photo is the photoshop of my planned paint scheme, which incorporates the tongue box. If anyone is trying to decide on their paint choice, feel free to post an image of your trailer, I'll try to do a photoshop for you.

Wicked custom job, it's great that it also acts as a rock guard. Nice work!

Why plexiglass?

I appreciate the design of the box, especially with the complimentary visual provided. I was curious about your choice of plexiglass to cover the wood though. It scratches so easily but I do understand that you hoped to paint it and I'm sure that aluminum/other metal is expensive.

I will look forward to further developments - congratulations for raising the bar

Yeah plexiglass wasn't best choice in hind sight. The sheet of 24 gauge was only $95, so not too bad! I'll update once I cap it in coming weeks.

Custom Curved Tongue Box

Here is my version. It is 1/8 aluminum. I have moved my battery into it and there is plenty of room for hoses , chocks etc . Click image for larger version

That's really nice! I'm sure your battery is in there, but what about your propane? Small bottle in there? Or?

I don't have propane. I do use the mini bottles for a camp stove and small heater. It works for us.

Just an update on progress. Decided to use 24 gauge Galvanized steel to cap front end. Matching the bottom paint to the same steel Grey.
