I bought a VentLine "Vanair" Roof Blower to install in the bathroom roof.
The ad copy says the inside trim ring adjusts for a roof thickness between 1-1/2" and 2-1/2". What do I do if my roof is only 1/4" thick?

I found something to use as a spacer!

So now, I cut a 6-1/4" hole in the bathroom roof...

I then go outside and assemble the vent, with Butyl tape both on top and bottom of the orange spacer.

I use 8 stainless steel bolts 2" long around the perimeter, with nylock nuts to hold it all together.

Both the Fantastic Fan and the Bathroom vent above are shown open.

The last photo shows both vents closed.

Nice work as usual, Frederick. Thanx for posting this project. Oooooo, gave me chills to read " ... now I cut a ... hole in the bathroom roof". Don't know if we would be that brave! L 'n D

Hi: Frederick... So after "venting" what do you use to hold your "Tongue" firmly in "Chock"???

The orange spacer brought the inside of the fan close to flush with the bathroom ceiling.

And the trim piece finishes it nicely.

That vent looks exactly like the one in the bathroom of my Dad's '76 GMC Motorhome!

This is the same vent used in 17' Casita bathrooms, over the shower. The bathroom in a Casita is double hulled, making a spacer unnecessary.
