Door window???

Can anyone please help me with any information on what size door window height I can go up to on my '78 scamp? I called scamp and the only help I received from them was "we install 15"x15" windows in our doors. and that's all we carry in stock" So I know I can put in at least a 15" tall door window, but the hole is already 18" wide. I removed the old window which was leaking, and hits the side of the camper when open. Called a couple window manufacturers and the cheapest window I could find was $200 before tax and s&h. If someone has dealt with this problem already... Please help!

Rickie, what kind of window did you pull out? A jalousie or tilt out? If you replace with a new window of the same size, won't it also hit the body when the door is open? I'd be inclined to fix/replair the current window because it fits the cutout.

If you have tilt out windows, see this excellent topic by Jenny W. on repairs: http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...ows-42049.html

I took out a jelousie window, it was leaking and ruined the door skin, which I also removed. I have new skin for it but needed a new window ( preferably a slide) that won't hit the fiberglass body. I can make the hole to fit a new window, but I need to find one first. If I have to I will put in a solid window. The old window was 18"w X 6"h X 1"d

Yeah, I looked but either they don't tell you the depth of them or they want as much for one as a new one after you pay the shipping. I have been looking everyday, but hopefully something comes up. I just hate to buy one I can't look at and measure before I give them my money, I have been dealing with an rv store here in grand rapids for 2 weeks, and they have sent me the wrong window twice already. And they're supposed to know what their doing
