Edge molding

Does anyone know where I can purchase some snap on edge molding for the bottom edges of the fiberglass shell? You know the part around the wheel wells and rest of the body which are sharp and make for some painful scrapes on your skin like when you're washing the tires? I see the Scamp website has some for around the door edge, but not for the body. Thanks!

Edge molding

Did you call them and ask? Since they still use it, they must keep it on hand.

BTW, I believe it is riveted in place.

Filbert, it's Trim-Lok. Plastic & Rubber Trim & Seals | Rubber Molding & Window Trim | Trim-Lok You can even purchase it through JC Whitney.

Locally you might find it at a boating supply house or automotive upholstery place, etc.

Thanks Donna! Any idea what size I would need. I'm terrible at measurements like 3/8s, 7/16, etc. How thick is my egg shell you think?

I know the shell on my Trillium is less than 1/8" thick.

Filbert, I'm sorry I can't answer your questions. Perhaps contact Trim-Lok and ask them how to measure the thickness you need? The Trim-Lok I've used has metal on the inside and it doesn't spread or pinch easily so I'm sure you'll want to get the correct size.

Best of luck!

Scamp does have the edging....it's on the parts store page under tapes and trims. Though I like the idea of the Trim-lock edging where you don't have to rivet it in place! That would save tons of time on installing it!

For a very clean look I have seen door edge protector used, looks real good.
Should be available at any automotive parts or accessory store and made is several sizes and widths

You guys are the best. I need to replace the metal core plastic trim on my Scamp but was dreading working with it. Now I have options. Thank you, thank you.

perfectfit.com has the trim for various thicknesses but you have to buy 100 feet. I bought some from JC Whitney in a shorter length

Another option for you, once you find out the size you need, you may want to try finding it on Ebay as sellers tend to list shorter lengths than a 100'.
