Gina don't do Blue.

When she redecorated her 17' Burro, she graciously gave me the original curtains which are still in good condition. While not as Blue as the carpet she replaced, they complimented my Odyssey's Gray interior. Along with a 3-fold Futon mattress, it makes an additional private sleeping area.

I usually have the car configured for 4 passengers...

The futon folds up vertically behind the 2nd row, leaving plenty of cargo area...

I use Windshield Shades to block the front windows.

There is even enough room to stow the futon if I'm using the 3rd row seat.

Looks good! I am glad someone got some use of them.

I never got to see the finished product. He was working on it at 5 am.

I don't do 5 am either:

Frederick, have you seen the tents that are made to be put on the back of a van or Pick-up with a topper? They are attached to your van by clips and bungy cords and extent at least six feet behind your van so they can function with the van tailgate up. With the seats out and the futon laid out, you would have a living room and an bed room too.

I have seen them is several catalogues, most recently in Campmoor flyer. It had three different styles. They are all made like tents, not canopys. They had zip close doors and windows and a floor cloth. With the Fiber Streem, you could have two bedrooms, two setting rooms, for those extended stays when you needed more room.

I have the Fiber Stream with an awning,
the Odyssey,
a "4-man" Sears Hillary tent with 6' interior height,
and a 10 x 10 Ezi-up Screen room...

Frederick,

Ginny likes it. How did you mount the curtains?

Thanks Norm.

Nice set up in the Odyssey, with all this talk of great mileage, and extra bedroom I'm beginning to wish we had gotten a smaller Escape and an Odyssey or Sienna, then we could have put the grandkids in the van

Norm, just noted you still have the CRV in your signature line…

I used cafe rods, and screwed their mounting brackets into the plastic "garnish" (Honda's term) interior body panels. My Honda wasn't brand-spanking new when I did this, though...

Lightbulb odyssey conversion

Hello Mr. Simson, I was researching diy converting van into camper. In GOOGLE IMAGES, your odyssey camper automatically caught my eyes & had my undivided attention. YOU GOT MAJOR SKILLS(fist bump)!!! I am a single mom of 3 kids. I need a spare room(process of dating)to stay mobile & close to home and avoid motel/hotel costs. I have a white 2000 honda odyssey...inside interior is bluish gray, seats are gray. Please, I need some useful money saving tips, hopefully, ideas of where to get material & supplies, & possibly instructions on how to diy my van.I HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME & CONSIDERATION. PLEASE REPLY ASAP.
