Talking to Fantastic Fan today it seems I need a "high profile" version of the 6600R for maximum headroom. But they tell me unless I know I'm ordering the high profile version, I'll be ordering the low profile version, most places carry the low profile version only. I'm a little desperate to get this vent before I take my
Scamp into the shop for it's new
axle, I'd really like to have this done then, when it'll be in a covered shop already.
Anyone have the exact part number for the high profile version? I should have gotten that when talking to the factory (which is close for the day). The distributor F. F. told me to try may not be able to get them quickly. So I'm hoping to find one in stock, but it seems the holiday weekend is still in effect for many RV parts shops I've tried calling today, many are still closed.
In addition to the high profile vent, researching on here, google and talking to F.F. seems I'll need an additional spacer/riser to put on the roof if I don't want the "garnish" to stick down below ceiling level. My current fan (Ventline) sticks about an inch below the ceiling and then there's cranks and toggle switches sticking down from that. Who designed this thing? It's like it's made to stab me in the head!
So any ideas for a simple spacer would be very appreciated. I've seen someone
fiberglass some plywood. I want something much simpler. I have no desire to be mixing epoxy for this project. Hopefully something I can just silicon and screw into place like vent itself.
