Firelander - conversion of a lander 474 to a firetruck rv ;-)

Hi,

I am new to this forum, new to rv vehicles, and new to my Lander "Pierre Cardin". Got this caravan end of last year and currently it will be modified to fit to my firetruck as towing machine.

The goal of my project is something like that:

If you want to follow my project, there is a link to the german rv forum: german language google translated to english

Feel free to follow the project, any comments are welcome

Welcome to the FGRV forum Paul. Looks like a fun project, and I am looking forward to seeing the progress.

Sehr interessant! I've always been interested in the differences between US trailers (caravans) and those I've seen and been in while in Europe.

That pair would attract a LOT of attention in the USA.

If you were in the US you'd have to remove your red lights on the truck!

Hi Dave & Paula, thanks
Hi Charly, in germany we have to cover the lights, but not to remove.

A trip across america would be a true dream. Especially since the truck is born in the USA. Its based on a 1975 Ford F250 and modified by a swiss manufacturer for fire trucks. The caravan is an italian rv from 1986.

Now, THAT is beautiful! Looks like exactly the same color as my old Falcon wagon... if you ever get to Hadlock, Washington and want to sell the trailer, give me a call.

Here's a request, hoping you don't mind:

European hitch setups are very different from those we use over here...I'd love to see some pictures of yours, and maybe pics/explanation of the trailer braking system etc.

Also (if you know), what does the trailer weigh?

Wow, what a great looking combo, as an old time firefighter I would sure like to see it in person.
