I just got a 13' 1973 Boler and am looking fwd to refurbing it over the winter, I am sure I will be back often to pick your brains and to provide update

Congrats 'Neighbour' on your '73 Boler. We too are starting to reno our 1973 Boler, found last year. We'll likely cross paths at some time, as we are also in Ontario. Curiously, we don't have the same trailer door window; nor do we have the frenched front lights showing in your pic ? Ours is an 'Earlton' build, is yours ?

Bullfrogeh, I have no idea what model it is. There are no indicators or numbers on it anywhere I have found.

I took the day off and came up with a reno plan...and a few questions:

1. The PO gave me a large roll of fabric for the walls. Should I insulate first? With what?
2. The walls are partly stripped -they left a lot on the walls and painted it. Anyone ever use a beltsander on the walls?
3. I am going to spray the furniture in place before I do the walls and floor Anyone try this?
4. How do I cut all those carpet pieces for the walls? Are templates available anywhere? What do I do with the seams?
5. Major door sag...what to do?
6. Front and rear window missing. Is it plexiglass? How thick? Again, templates available?
7. The trailer leans quite a bit. What might it be?

If it leans then the axle might need replacing. Your trailer is a 73 and they have not been made for many years. No parts or templates are available. Possibly a trailer person has done the window before.
Their are many pictures and posting about restoring Bolers on this site.

Well I finally made some good headway. The interior is stripped and I got a new axle w/brakes from Paul N. that is being installed next weekend.

I plan on installing Reflectix followed by marine fabric. The PO stripped out 90% of the ensolite then painted over the glue residue with what I believe is a latex paint. My question is, will reflectix bond to the painted surface with the proper glue? If so, what glue would you recommend? I live in SW Ontario where we get extreme heat to extreme cold.

The glue will stick to the paint, the question is how well will the paint stick to the fiberglass. If the surface of the fiberglass was not cleaned well there could be oils and waxes on the surface which will cause the paint to fail. I would personally strip the paint off since you have already gone this far.

Good advice from Ian, won't take much to remove the bulk of it with a DA sander.
